The Crous is an organisation that helps you with your student life, whether it be financial aid, access to accommodation, student jobs, etc.
There are many CROUS residences in the Lille metropolitan area. You can find all the residences near our campuses on the Crous Lille Nord Pas-de-Calais website.
Remember to follow the calendar to submit your CROUS housing application.
There are various organisations that can help you finance your accommodation: the Lille CAF, the Roubaix CAF, the student portal, the Service Public, and the Visale scheme (formerly the Caution Locative Etudiante du Crous).
Action Logement’s Visale scheme replaces the Caution Locative Crous-Lokaviz, but does not in any way play the role of housing insurance , for which there are several specialised entities for students and which it is advisable to compare.
The Visale scheme is a free, simple, paperless housing deposit.
To apply for the Visale visa, you need to use the platform set up for this purpose, before signing the lease and during the inventory of fixtures . Visale is aimed at young people under the age of 30, with no other entry requirements.
In addition, you can combine this aid with the Mobili-Jeune scheme set up by Action Logement for young people under 30 who are apprentices or on work-linked training schemes in the private sector.
Once the tenancy agreement has been signed, you can start the normal procedures involved in moving in, such as opening the gas, electricity and water meters.
There are various types of grants and social and financial aid to support you during your university year.
If you have any problems or difficulties during your university year, you can contact either the IAE Lille management directly, or the social workers at the University of Lille and the Crous.
The University of Lille has set up an emergency aid scheme, Aides Spécifiques Annuelles et Ponctuelles, which can be granted if your situation has suddenly changed.
To qualify for this assistance, you first need to make an appointment with a social worker.
